iPad
As I waited for four anda half hours this afternoon, I have ever been so thankful for my iPad. Instead of being severely anxious and bored, I was only mildly anxious. I quickly ran to the acute care clinic to get medication for what I was sure I had and I apparently was wrong. So I had to go Condell for a CT. My iPad was a lifesaver.

Restraint
Today I am grateful for impulse control. Phog jumped up on my laptop and submitted my half finished final. I managed to problem solve this issue and complete my final. Though I nearly wanted to throttle Phog. One class done. Take a deep breath.

Bohemian Rhapsody
Today I am thankful for Queen, in particular Bohemian Rhapsody. The song begin to play while I was driving to work this morning and although it covers a sad subject matter, the song itself makes me want to rock out in my car. It conjures up an image of a full Wayne's World style headbang, of course I had to reserve this impulse because I was driving and didn't want to get into an accident. That would have been one interesting accident report. Why did you get into a car accident? Oh I was rocking out to Queen. Umm...okay.
One of the best words in the song is scaramouch. What does this word mean? It refers to aa stock character who appears as a boastful coward, which is by no means a fun to guy to be, but it is an awesome word to say. I am trying to figure out how I can work it into a conversation in the near future. The song itself is reported to have no actual meaning, but just a bunch of words that rhymed well together. Though I think its about someone who has comitted a crime and how they are attempting to deal with it.
Blow are the lyrics to the song, but I highly recommend hearing the song yourself.
Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy
Because I'm easy come, easy go
A little high, little low
Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me, to me
Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he's dead
Mama, life had just begun
But now I've gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooo
Didn't mean to make you cry
If I'm not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters
Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
Body's aching all the time
Goodbye everybody - I've got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama, ooo - (anyway the wind blows)
I don't want to die
I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all
I see a little silhouetto of a man
Scaramouch, scaramouch will you do the fandango
Thunderbolt and lightning - very very frightening me
Gallileo, Gallileo,
Gallileo, Gallileo,
Gallileo Figaro - magnifico
But I'm just a poor boy and nobody loves me
He's just a poor boy from a poor family
Spare him his life from this monstrosity
Easy come easy go - will you let me go
Bismillah! No - we will not let you go - let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go - let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go - let me go
Will not let you go - let me go (never)
Never let you go - let me go
Never let me go - ooo
No, no, no, no, no, no, no -
Oh mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go
Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me
for me
for me
So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye
So you think you can love me and leave me to die
Oh baby - can't do this to me baby
Just gotta get out - just gotta get right outta here
Ooh yeah, ooh yeah
Nothing really matters
Anyone can see
Nothing really matters - nothing really matters to me
Anyway the wind blows...

Fruit...no wait Whole Foods
How wonderful is it that you can go to the groccery store and have a variety of fruit just at your finger tips? Right now the blueberries are particularly delicious and I can't get enough of them, they just burst in your mouth. Even better then going to the Jewel looking at fruit is going to Whole Foods. That is store is like healthy crack. Upon entering your are overwhelmed with all the colors and options. It makes you want to be a healthier person. Damn I wish that store was closer. The vegetables pop and there are such varieties. You can buy bath salts! They have essential oils. I should really take a cooking class there...I bet I would get some good ideas.

Reframing
I was thinking as I was walking today, as I often do, about all the things that I have to do this weekend. Then I wondered why I was thinking of them as the things I have to do? Couldn't I reframe things that I get to do? Instead of I can't believe I have to walk Phog when it's 10 degrees outside, how about how fortunate am I that I can get out and walk in the sunshine. On a side note, thank God for having warm mittens. Instead of I can't believe that I have to write this paper or career development, how about how nice is it that I get to take the time to analyze my career path? I can't change the things that I need to do, but I can change how I feel about the and what I get out of the opportunity.

Loved Ones
Today I realized as people wished me Happy Birthday that I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful and caring people in my life. There are some people that I have known for so long that I do not remember I time that I did not know them. Others from various stages in my life like school and work. Others still I acquired through marriage. Thank you all for being a part of my life.

Feet
Often I am afraid that in focus more on the things that are going wrong in my life instead of focusing on what's going right, that I focus more on what I don't have instead of focusing on what I do have. So I have decided to write a blog and hopefully change that. I also must give a shout out to Lynn, as she has inspired me with her own blog to try something new. So what am I thankful for today? My feet!
Why feet? Well one of my favorite things in this world, are shoes and in order to wear these shoes, I need a pair of feet. Which I have been blessed to have. These feet of mine allow me to dress the up with a whole assortment of shoes, really really cute shoes. They allow me to walk Phog every morning. I can run in 5Ks with my feet. I can ink one with with a tattoo or possibly more.

Some fun facts about feet
- The foot is an intricate structure containing 26 bones. Thirty-three joints, 107 ligaments, 19 muscles, and tendons hold the structure together and allow it to move in a variety of ways.
- The American Podiatric Medical Association says the average person takes 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day. Those cover several miles, and they all add up to about 115,000 miles in a lifetime -- more than four times the circumference of the globe.
- There are times when you're walking that the pressure on your feet exceeds your body weight, and when you're running, it can be three or four times your weight.
